Congratulations to Donald and Ethel (Wine) Nybeck, who will celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on September 3! They graduated from North Penn High School in 1956, and are now living in Lebanon, PA. The Nybecks will be in Covington for the Labor Day weekend, where they will visit Donald's brother.

Happy Birthday to Zackary Onks, who will be 15 on September 8.

Lewis Cretsinger of Morris Run is currently a patient in Geisinger hospital in Danville. He will be having back surgery this week. Please keep Lewis in your thoughts and prayers.

Knoebel's Grove was the site of Democratic Pride Day on August 28. Thirteen Tioga County residents attended the event, including the Committee Chairperson, Barb Slocum of Blossburg. It was a great event filled with speeches from Northcentral Caucus candidates, delicious food, and all the fun of the family-oriented park!

Cub Scout Pack #2059 will registering new scouts at their display during the Blossburg Elementary School Open House on September 1, from 6:00pm until 9:00pm. This pack is a very active scout group and welcomes new members who like you be active. American Legion Post 572 Auxiliary Meeting will be held on September 7 at 6:00pm, at the Post on South Williamson Road in Blossburg. All Members are Requested to Attend.

The Blossburg Methodisst Church is sponsoring a Community Blood Drive on Friday, September 10, from noon until 5:00pm. Reservations can be made by calling the church office (638-2296) or Joann Ogden (638-2296). All blood collected stays local. Come out and be a hero to as many as three people!

Sign up now for the Annual Blossburg Fall Festival, to be held Sunday, October 17, from noon until 5:00pm in the Riverside Plaza parking lot. Vendor applications can be printed by visiting blossburg.org and following the Fall Festival link. This year’s event will include the free hay ride, along with food, games, crafts, pumpkin painting, music, and more!
