This year's Coal Festival was bigger and better than ever! Hundreds of people swarmed Island Park in search of the area's best barbequed chicken, homemade treats, and quality merchandise. Kids ran excitedly from one carnival ride to the next. The car show seemed bigger and better than ever. The mirror-like shine and bright colors of classics and antiques drew a steady stream of admirers. The weather was perfect for the elbow-to-elbow crowd lining Main Street to watch the parade. The fireworks began at dusk, and the slight backlighting of blue and orange in the sky accenting the colors made the show the most beautiful one this writer has ever seen!
