Happy birthday to Margaret Onks on May 7. Congratulations to Bruce Mastho and Lisa Uhrick of Riverside Park, who are engaged to be married.
Come to the Hillside Rod & Gun Club this Saturday at 8:00am for the annual Spring Stream and Roadside Cleanup, sponsored by the Club and TCCCC. Gloves, vests, trash bags, and lunch provided for all participants.
A chicken barbeque will be held at the Bloss Holiday Market parking lot on May 8, from 10:00am until noon. Benefit: NPHS Yearbook. Sleezy Construction is cooking the perfect Spring lunch for you!
On May 8, from 7:00pm until 8:00pm, the public is invited to the NPHS gym to preview the decorations for the Junior Prom. The Juniors thank Stager Vehicle Sales for the donation of the prom car. They also thank parents, families and the community for their help.
Community Blood Bank is holding a drive May 10, 9:00am until 2:00pm at North Penn High School Gym. Nikkole Sampson, a senior, is the donor chair. Beginning July 1,CBB will be the exclusive blood provider to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital. The blood donations STAY LOCAL...please spread the word and come out to help and/or donate.
A barbeque ribs sale will take place on May 15, beginning at 10:00am at the VFW Post on North Williamson Road.
The Blossburg Town-Wide Yard Sale will be held May 22, from 8:00am until 4:00pm. To have your sale listed on the official map, send your name, address of the sale, and any items of particular interest to contact barb_slocum@hotmail.com or call 570-656-6597
The Blossburg State Coal Festival is May 26 through 29. Admission pins are $3.00 at the gate or 2 for $5.00 in advance at Bloss Hardware, First Citizens National Bank of Blossburg, Blossburg Borough offices, or Momma's Restaurant. The Royalty Committee is seeking candidates for King & Queen, Prince, and Princess. Nominees must be current or past residents of Blossburg, Arnot, Morris Run or Covington. King/Queen candidates must be 30 years of age or older and have some type of association with the mining industry. Prince/Princess entries are children ages 4 to 8, chosen by random drawing. Registration per child is $5.00. Applications, due May 10, can be obtained at www.blossburgcoalfestival.org or by calling Amy Smith at 570-638-0329.
The Friends of The Blossburg Library will hold a one day Book Sale on Saturday, May 29th at the Library.
May 29 is also the opening date for the VIBE-sponsored Blossburg Farmers' Market at Riverside Plaza from 8:00am until 1:00pm.
