Blossburg birthdays this week: Troy Dickinson (turned 6 on April 5), Harry Lattimer (April 7), and Dillon Lattimer (April 9).

The Blossburg United Methodist Church hosts the Blossburg Food Pantry once each month for residents of the greater Blossburg area (Blossburg, Covington, Morris Run, Arnot). Come on April 19 from 10am-noon or 6pm utnil 7:30pm. No pre-registration required.

Vendors interested in participating in the Blossburg Farmers Market please contact Tonya McNamara at mcnamara@ptd.net or 638-3112. The market will start the Saturday of the Coal Festival (May 29) and continue every Saturday from 8am until 1pm through October.

There will be a chicken barbeque on April 10 at the American Legion on North Williamson Road. Halves and dinners can be purchased from 10am until 1pm. All proceeds go to support America's Veterans. The canteen will also be open to regular and social members. If you are eligible for Legion membership, or do you know someone who may be, contact Roger Bunn at 638-2082.

If you would like to purchase quality food at amazingly low prices, you should check into Angel Food Ministries. The Blossburg area sponsor is the Arnot Presbyterian Church. Menus for April can be obtained from the church's web site (www.ap-church.com), or at First Citizens Bank or The Brick (both on Main St. in Blossburg). Orders can be dropped off at The Brick on April 7, from 10:00 until noon, or at the bank by April 11. Payment is by cash or food stamps (see order form for details).

The Community Leadership Program will host the first Tioga's Got Talent! show on Saturday, April 17, at 6:00pm in Mansfield University's Straughn Auditorium. Cash prizes awarded in four categories: Singing, Dance, Band/Instrumental, Other. Entry fee is just $5 (single) or $10 (group). Entries must be submitted by April 9. Call TCDC at 723-8232 for more information.

The Blossburg Spring Cleanup will be from April 26 until April 30. Get your Spring cleaning done and have your items at the curb by April 25.
