Blossburg birthdays this week are: Trace Dickinson, who will be 19 on April 27, and Susan Slocum, who will be 6 on April 28.

Blossburg's Visions in Business and Entertainment (VIBE) meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Everyone is invited to join them for their next meeting on April 28, in the Kiwanis Building at Island Park. The meeting begins at 6:00 pm. The Kiwanis will be hosting a chicken barbeque on May 1, in the Holiday Market parking lot. The sale begins at 10:00am and benefits Relay for Life. Come and get a delicious May Day lunch!

Come over to Island Park on Saturday, May 1st, for the annual Island Park Cleanup. The event is scheduled from 8:00am until 3:00pm. Bring your rakes, shovels, gloves, etc. and enjoy visiting with your friends and neighbors while helping to get the Park ready for the outdoor season. Rain date is May 8.

The Spring Stream and Roadside Clean-up sponsored by the TCCCC and Hillside Rod & Gun Club will take place on May 8. Volunteers will meet at the Club facility at 8:00 AM. Gloves, vests and trash bags will be provided. Lunch will be provided for all participants.

Friends of the Blossburg Library will have Super Bingo on May 16th at the Blossburg Fire Hall. Doors open at 11:00am, games start at 1:00. Great homemade food and desserts will be available for purchase. The Friends will hold a Book Sale on Saturday, May 29th at the Library.

This year's Blossburg Town-Wide Yard Sale will be held May 22. To be included on the official map, send your name, address, and a brief description of the items for sale to barb_slocum@ hotmail.com, or call Barb at 570-656-6597.

The TCCCC is offering two $1,000 scholarships for graduating high school seniors in Tioga County. The Linda Lutomski Environmental Scholarship is offered to seniors in the Southern Tioga School District. The TCCCC Environmental Scholarship is available to all Tioga County seniors. Visit the web site at www.tcccc-inc. org. and select the "scholarship" link to view additional information and past recipients. Applications are available through the Guidance Counselors at area high schools.
