April 20 Home track meet vs Montgomery and Canton starting at 4pm.

April 21 Kid's Night Out in the high school gym at 6pm.

April 22 Meet at the Hillside Rod and Gun Club at 8am for the biannual RIVER CLEANUP. Come dressed to pick up lots of trash!!

April 29 Boy Scouts will be having a chicken barbeque starting at 10:30am in front of the Holiday Market. Chicken cooked by Sleezy

Scholarship applications are now available in the guidance office for seniors who plan to major in hydrology, fisheries, forestry, wild life management, biology, parks and recreation, earth and space science, environmental science, or geolgy. The application deadline is May 1st

May 6 Kiwanis Club will be having a chicken barbeque starting at 10:30am in front of the Holiday Market. Chicken cooked by Kiwanis Club.

Although mining no longer takes place in the area, we honor our past with the annual Coal Festival. The first Coal Festival was held Memorial Day weekend in 1993, 201 years after coal was discovered in Blossburg. The event continues to be held on Memorial Day weekend each year. We invite you, your family and friends to help us celebrate. May 24-27. http://www.blossburgcoalfestival.org/

The Friends of the library will have their annual Book Sale May 18-20. The library will be accepting donations of books, videos, DVDs, and CDs in good condition. We will not be taking Reader's Digest Condensed Books. Please contact the library for more information.

If you haven’t enrolled in a Medicare D Prescription Drug Plan the enrollment period closes May 15th. You still have time to call the Area Agency on Aging for help at 800-982-4346. They can also help with questions or problems if you are already in a plan.

REMINDERS:

T.O.P.S. (Take off Pounds Sensibly) meets every Monday at the First United Methodist Church of Blossburg. Weigh-in is at 5 p.m.
Blossburg BINGO! Every Monday bingo is held at St. Mary's Hall, 6:30pm and every Wednesday at the fire & ambulance building, 6:30pm
