Happy belated birthday to Ralph Mundis on March 21. According to his wife, Sandy, he's 21 (again). Ed Slocum, Jr. will be celebrating his birthday on March 31.

A chicken barbecue will be held in the parking lot of Bloss Holiday Market on Saturday, March 27. The 10am until noon sale will benefit Cub Scout Pack 2059. Chicken cooked by Sleezy Construction.

The Blossburg Memorial Library's annual Chicken Barbecue and Bake Sale will be on April 3, beginning at 10am. Stop by Riverside Plaza for your delicious dinner and pick up some wonderful baked goods.

The Community Leadership Program will host the first Tioga's Got Talent! show on Saturday, April 17, at 6:00pm in Mansfield University's Straughn Auditorium. Cash prizes awarded in four categories: Singing, Dance, Band/Instrumental, Other. Sponsors are needed for prizes, and to offer performance venues. Entry fee is just $5 (single) or $10 (group). Entries must be submitted by April 9. Call TCDC at 723-8232 for more information.

The Blossburg Spring Cleanup will be from April 26 until April 30. Get your Spring cleaning done and have your items at the curb by April 25.

The University of Scranton Small Business Development Center’s (SBDC) Agribusiness and Food Specialty Centers will partner with Penn State Cooperative Extension to host a Food for Profit Workshop on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Northern Tier Regional Development & Planning Commission, Towanda.
A variety of experts will present information about food business challenges and advantages, feasibility analysis, business planning, marketing, safe food handling, regulatory agencies, and packaging.
“The SBDC is committed to providing the people of this region with assistance in developing their businesses,” said Elaine M. Tweedy, SBDC Director. “We recognize the challenges that food entrepreneurs face and hope to provide valuable guidance and strategies at this workshop.”
Cost to attend the seminar is $35 per person. The fee includes the seminar, materials, and lunch. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required. For more information or to register, please contact the SBDC at 570-941-7588 or email: sbdc@scranton.edu.

Mayday! Mayday! May 1st is the date of this year's Island Park Cleanup. Mark your calendar and watch for more information.

The Spring Stream and Roadside Clean-up sponsored by the TCCCC and Hillside Rod & Gun Club will take place on May 8. Volunteers will meet at the Club facility at 8:00 AM. Gloves, vests and trash bags will be provided. Lunch will be provided for all participants.

Friends of the Blossburg Library will have Super Bingo on May 16th at the Blossburg Fire Hall. Doors open at 11:00am, games start at 1:00. Great homemade food and desserts will be available for purchase. The Friends will hold a Book Sale on Saturday, May 29th at the Library.
