Happy birthday to Kate Mahosky, who will be "sweet 16" on March 19th. Birthday wishes also go out to Laura Slocum, who will be 22 on March 22nd.

Erma Cretsinger of Morris Run is in the hospital. She fell and broke her pelvis on Sunday. Next week's column will have an address for those who would like to send her get-well cards. Please keep Erma and Louis in your thoughts and prayers. They are a wonderful couple who open their home and their hearts to everyone.

The monthly meeting of VIBE will be held on Wednesday, March 18, at 6:00 PM in the Kiwanis Building at Island Park. These meetings are open to the public and refreshments are served. Come out and see what we are doing to make Blossburg an exciting place to live, work, and play!

Cub Scout Pack 2059 of Arnot is having a Community Pinewood Derby. Build and race your own Pinewood Derby car. The Derby will be held Sunday, March 29, at the Bloss Township Recreation Center. Weigh-in is at 10:00 AM racing will begins at 11:00. A pie and cake auction at 1:00 will benefit the "Kids Helping Kids" Charity. For more information, contact Lorraine Thompson @ lorthomp@ptd.net

Hey, how about this weather?! The warmth and sunshine have been giving many of us Spring Fever. On Sunday afternoon, Karley and Steven Lattimer, along with several of their friends, were seen riding their bicycles on Main St. The pleasant weather and the kids' happy chatter sure made the day feel and sound like Spring. A number of people have been seen working in their yards and beginning to prepare their gardens. If you'd like to have a garden, but don't have the room for one, come to the VIBE meeting (mentioned above) and ask about getting a plot in the Community Garden. The plots are very inexpensive, and you could have fresh flowers and home-grown vegetables all season long.

Mark your calendar for the 21st annual reunion of graduates and attendees of the Blossburg and North Penn High School. The reunion will be on Saturday, August 1, 2009. Members of classes ending in "4" and "9" are especially urged to attend! To make sure your current name and address are correct on the Alumni Association’s list, go to http://www.blossburg.org/alumni and send your information. Mark "yes" if you would like your name added to the alumni directory.
