Happy birthday Morgan Reid, who was 6 on February 16. This birthday greeting comes from her grandmother, Debbe Breach. Debbe lives in Dauphin, PA, and reads the News & Views online every week. Morgan's parents are Jonathan and Julee Reid.
Andy Levindoski’s sister, Mary Wickman, graduated in January from Northampton Community College and also made the Dean’s List. Way to go Mary!
Tony Lupkowski recently returned from a visit to Poland. While there, he traveled to his father's hometown, visited his parents' grave site, and reconnected with many relatives and friends. One of the highlights of his trip was the traditional Wigilia (Christmas Eve) dinner, which included 12 courses! At the dinner, there is always an extra place set for Jesus, and an empty chair for those who have died.
Miracles in Motion (MIM) will hold a 2:00 pm meeting on February 20 at the Liberty Bible Church, to plan their April 11 "Miracles for Morgan" benefit dinner and Chinese auction. To donate items for the auction, contact Anjanette Wheeler at 324-2169. An account has been established at C&N Bank in Liberty for cash donations. MIM is a non-profit organization that helps families with special needs children utilizing horses to provide therapy for the kids.
Applications for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program for 2009 are now available by contacting Matt Baker's office at (570) 724-1390, or by visiting his Web site at RepBaker.com. Eligible participants can receive a rebate of up to $650 based on their rent or property taxes paid in 2009.
The Blossburg Fire Department Auxiliary will hold its monthly meeting on February 18, at 7:00pm. The Fire Department will meet on February 22. Both meetings are open to the public, and take place at the fire hall.
The next VIBE meeting will take place on February 24, at 6:00pm in the Kiwanis Building at Island Park. VIBE is a non-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing downtown Blossburg. All monthly meetings are open to the public. Come an find out more about VIBE, get involved in an action team, or start a new project!
