Happy birthday to Cassandra Johnson, who will be 3 on Valentine's Day. She is the daughter of Cheryl Slocum and Kevin Johnson. Valentine's Day also marks the anniversary of Blossburg couples Jerry & Patty Onks, and Glenn & Karen Lattimer. Karen and Jerry are siblings. These two couples were married in a double ceremony. How romantic!

The Blossburg Memorial Library is forming a strategic planning committee to plan for the future of the library. We are looking for trustees, Friends, patrons, students, and members of the community to sit on the committee. The first meeting of this committee will be held on February 11 at 7:00pm in the community room of the library. Interested parties can contact Shelby Kinsey, Library Director, at 638-2197.

Enrollment for North Penn Little League (boys and girls) will be on Saturday, February 13, from 8:00am until noon in the North Penn gymnasium lobby. Registration fee is $25.00 for the first child and $20.00 for each additional family member. Please bring a copy of your childs birth certificate.

A "Sweetheart Dinner and Dance" will be held at the Bloss American Legion Post 572 on February 13, from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. Menu (all prices include two dinners): Prime Rib - $24.95, Stuffed Chicken Breast - $14.95, 1 Stuffed Chicken Breast & 1 Prime Rib = $19.95. Each dinner comes with salt potaotes, tossed salad, green beans, roll and strawberry shortcake or brownie sundae. Follwing dinner, dance with your special someone from 8:00pm until midnight. This event is open to the public. Reservations are due by February 10, and can be made by calling Kim or Mel at 638-2481.

Grace Community of Blossburg, located on the corner of Main and Carpenter Streets, meets for their Sunday service at 6:30pm each week. On Fridays at 7:00pm, they host The Refuge, an informal "hang out" time . TruthSeekers Bible study meets at 7:00pm on Tuesday. All events are open to members of all churches, members of no church, believers and unbelievers alike. For more information contact Steve 638-3021 or sandel@epix.net.
