Dave Jones, webmaster at www.blossburg.org, posted 20 issues of the _Weekly Advertiser_, a old Blossburg newspaper at www.blossburg.org/newspapers. The issues are from Dec. 9, 1885 to April 25, 1886, and are posted as Adobe PDFs. The newspapers are from Jim McIntosh's collection. The first issue had a print run of 5,000 and was distributed free in Blossburg, Morris Run, Fall Brook, Arnot, Landrus, Hoytville, Union, Covington, Charleston and Sullivan, according to the proprietor Ben. P. Sexton's column on the first page.
Blossburg V.I.B.E. recently installed a new, larger and safer coming events sign adjacent to the green bridge. The sign was designed by Tyoga Writing & Design of Wellsboro. We are planning to improve the lighting for the sign and enhance the landscaping in the spring. See http://www.blossburg.org/vibe/ for a picture. Donations toward the cost of the sign (over $2800 for design, manufacture and installation) are certainly welcome. Contributions to Blossburg V.I.B.E. are tax deductible and may be mailed to PO Box 126, Blossburg, PA 16912. The sign (and Blossburg V.I.B.E.) was made possible in part by a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
