Happy Birthday to: Nathan Mahonski - Jan.10 Dave Mahonski and Justin Drinkwine - Jan. 28

Blossburg Wrestling Club is hosting their annual wrestling tournament at NPHS gym on Sat., Jan. 28 at 9:00 am. BWC is a self supporting organization and are asking area business owners for donations to help defer the costs of the tournament. Donations can be made to BWC at 147 E. Creek Rd. Blossburg.

2005 Recap cont'd.

Sept.: The first Panther football game of the season was held at Jones Field on Island Park. A Labor Day Celebration was held at the Hillside Rod and Gun Club. The Blossburg Area Catholic Community held a Beef and Pork Roast at St. Stanislaus grounds in Arnot. The first North Penn girl's varsity volleyball game was held in Wellsboro. The annual Lobster bake was held at the Hillside Rod and Gun Club. The Brick Tavern celebrated seven years in business under the management of Thelma and Gordon Wickman. Blossburg Elementary School and North Penn High School held their book fairs in their libraries. Blossburg Elementary and North Penn High Schools held their annual Open House. First Citizens National Bank matched all donations up to $5,000 for the Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Fund.

Oct. The Rod and Gun Club and Mansfield Wal-Mart sponsored the Second Annual Children's Miracle Network Trap-shoot. Hillside Rod and Gun Club sponsored the annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. A new group at the Methodist Church, just for moms, began. A Halloween Party was held at the Hillside Rod and Gun Club. Shannon Hall of Blossburg, represented North Penn at the Flaming Foliage Festival. The class of 2007 traveled to our nation's capital; Washington DC for their Junior Trip.

Nov. Panther football played their last game of the season against Wellsboro. The Morton Jones Trophy is back in the NPHS display case; at least for another year. The Panthers beat the Wellsboro Hornets by a score of 42-0 on Nov. 4. An Election Day Dinner was held at the Covington Church of Christ. A small game hunt was held at the Hillside Rod and Gun Club as well as a Hunter's Ball.

Dec. American Legion post 572 shipped 24 care packages to service personnel overseas. Corey Johnson along with his parents Paula and Percy decorated the monument and gazebo in veterans' square. A Real Big Thanks to The Blossburg Community and residents who joined together to celebrate our Tree Lighting Ceremony on Sunday evening Dec. 4.
