By Barb Slocum
Belated birthday greetings go out to Lewis Cretsinger of Morris Run (January 18) and Cheryl Slocum (January 19). We wish you both a wonderful day!
Several members of the First Baptist Church of Blossburg had a rough week. Ross and Sandy Roupp were involved in a car accident. Sandy had a painful bump on her head, but they were both in services on Sunday. Andy and Celeste Levindoski's daughter, Sarah, was also in an accident in the Harrisburg area. She is fine, although her car was totaled.
Erma Cretsinger was back in the congregation this week. She has been struggling with physical problems for quite a while and has been missed. It was nice to see her smile and hear her singing hymns among us again.
The monthly meeting of VIBE will be held Wednesday, January 27, from 6:00 until 7:30pm in the Kiwanis building at Island Park. VIBE is a non-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing downtown Blossburg. All of our monthly meetings are open to the general public to come in an find out more about our organization, get involved in an action team or start a new project under V.I.B.E. http://www.blossburg.org/vibe
The Parent Education and Advocacy Leadership (PEAL) Center is actively recruiting parents who are interested in becoming collaborators in education reform at the local and state level. To further these efforts we are offering a free 6 month PEACE project at Mansfield University. Parents Engaged in Advocating for Change in Education (PEACE) project provides parents with the information they need to be informed and active partners in local educational reform. Parents of children with disabilities or suspected disabilities are invited to apply for this program. For more information, visit http://www.pealcenter.org or contact mallen@pealcenter.org
