With increased interest in buying local and supporting farmers markets, there has been expressed frustration with persons wanting to participate but unable because cooked/baked goods sold must be prepared in an inspected kitchen. There is information and possibly funding for a certified public kitchen that can be used by persons wanting to produce such products. Anyone interested in looking into the possibility of getting a certified public kitchen in the Blossburg area please contact me at mcnamara@epix,net. Meeting(s) would be held at Wellsboro Penn Tech, during the daytime at a date yet to be determined.
Congratulations to the following students for their acceptance into Certified Nurse Assistant program beginning this month. The ten students from STSD will train at Penn College North Campus for 18 weeks, in addition to taking their full schedules at their high schools. Alison Wood, Dana Coates, Brittany Schimpf, and Jessica Stewart from MHS, Danielle Rhoads, and Jessica Roan from LHS, and Onalee Anderson, Kayla House, Aleesha Henry, and Megan Slater from NPHS will form their own class. Wish them great success! A special thank you to Southern Tioga School District for covering the costs of tuition for the students!!!
The transition from high school to college can be a challenging, if not traumatic, experience for students and parents alike. Thats why the seniors have spent I Block time researching college information and talking about what to expect their first year out of high school. Ms. Peterson, our new school psychologist, visited the senior I Block a couple of times to offer information and advice. Miss Deljanovan, Mr. Smith, and Mrs. Snyder will continue these conversations with seniors during I Block until the end of the semester. And, as always, Mrs. Barton is available to answer questions and find information.
