Hilda Freece of Riverside Apartments recently fell and broke her pelvis. She is currently staying at The Green Home in Wellsboro, and hopes to be back home in a few weeks. Hilda would love to receive visitors during her recuperation. Please keep her in your prayers as she recovers.
Imagine you're in Bethlehem for the Census on the night that Jesus was born. The Blossburg Area Ministerium and Church Women United invite the public to attend "A Night in Bethlehem" on Sunday, December 5th, 6:00 to 8:00pm in the Blossburg Memorial Library. The living history (starring your neighbors as townspeople), crafts, gifts and more are all FREE! For more information contact Rev. Michele Someville at 638-3046.
Blossburg VIBE is excited to announce the 2010 Light Up the Holidays contest. Show your town spirit by taking part in this fun contest! All Blossburg residents and businesses are encouraged to decorate. There's no need to enter: we'll be exploring town on Sunday, December 19th, 7:00 to 9:00pm to check out all of your beautiful displays. If you hear a knock at the door, make sure to answer because you may have won a prize! Categories: Victorian, Modern, Whimsical, Most Christmas Spirit (site that exhibits the greatest feeling of Christmas magic and warmth), and Best Store Front Window Display. Check the contest web page at: http://blossburg.org/vibe/LightUpTheHolidays. Prize donations welcome - contact kelly.rossell@gmail.com, 570-337-8770.
The Blossburg Kiwanis recently shared dinner with the Mill Hall club, then enjoyed a guided tour of the Piper Aviation Museum. The Kiwanis invite all community-minded people to join during their current member drive, to help them serve our community "one child at a time." They will meet at the Kiwanis Building in Island Park every Thursday through the end of 2010. In 2011, meetings will be held on the first and third Thursdays of each month.
