Hillside Rod & Gun Club General Membership Meeting December 10, 6pm – 9pm - Open to members only. Doors open at 6 PM, meeting starts at 7 PM. Dinner available following the meeting. http://www.hillsiderodandgun.org

Thursday, December 11th is our next Act 80 Day (2 hour delay schedule)

Schools and Offices will be closed Wednesday, December 24th through Friday, January 2nd. Tuesday, December 23rd -- 1:00 PM dismissal for students

Pictures with Santa at the Blossburg Memorial Library, Saturday Dec 13 from 1 to 4 pm. The cost is $5 and there will be games, crafts, refreshments and a gift from Santa. These pictures would make great Christmas presents.

Light Up the Holidays Decorating Contest Dec. 21 Decorate your house or business storefront for the holidays and maybe you’ll win a prize from V.I.B.E.! Light Up the Holidays judging will be held Dec. 21, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. everywhere in the borough of Blossburg. Last year’s winners included Bloss Hardware for best business display, Maurie Delinski, 19 Briarpatch Lane, for most Victorian, Edmund Bogaczyk, 236 North Williamson Road, for most whimsical, Barbara Beatty, 111 Schuylkill Street, for most modern, and Lisa & Gary Fidler, 116 Schuylkill Street, for most Christmas spirit.

CONGRATULATIONS to the cheerleaders who attended the Waverly Spirit Challenge Cheerleading Competition on Saturday, November 1, 2008! They won two firsts and one third AND to top it all, they won Overall Grand Champions. Great job on a wonderful season!

Brianna Bubacz, a senior, has been selected by the faculty and staff at NPHS to be honored by the Blossburg Kiwanis Club as the Student of the Month for October. She is the daughter of Joe and Cheryl Bubacz of Blossburg. Bubacz is vice president of the Yearbook staff and vice president of National Honor Society. She participates in varsity volleyball and basketball, and was named to the West Senior All-Star volleyball team. In her free time Brianna coaches elementary basketball and enjoys spending time with family and friends. Upon graduation from NPHS, Brianna plans to attend Keuka College to major in Criminal Justice.

Chris Southard, a senior, has been selected by the faculty and staff at NPHS to be honored by the Blossburg Kiwanis Club as the Student of the Month for September. He is the son of Louis and Wendy Southard of Covington. Southard is a member of the North Penn Panther football team, and in his free time enjoys hunting, fishing and bowling. After graduating from NPHS, Chris plans to attend college to major in athletic training.
