Nov.4 Panther football plays their last game of the season against Wellsboro. As many of you know, the Wellsboro game is extremely important because it involves the fate of the Jones Trophy. This 'non native' of Blossburg asked Pete Hall to explain the significance of the trophy. Here's what he had to say: "It was started by Bob Jones in memory of his father who was the principal of both Wellsboro and Blossburg High Schools. It goes to the winning team every year to be displayed in the school's trophy case with an engraving giving the year and the score of the game. It was initiated in 1969 by Bob and Marian Jones and all previous game score between the two schools are engraved on it."

If you are the mother of a young child (or children!), then this invitation is for you. A new group, just for moms, has begun meeting on the first Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8:00 PM. Come join us as we use the book Real Moms: Exploding the Myths of Motherhood as a springboard for discussion. This is a kids-free evening where we can relax, talk and of course, share in some delicious dessert! You deserve this break to spend some time with other women who are sharing many of the same experiences, as we all answer to that all-encompassing title of "Mom". Our next gathering will be on November 2nd at the home of Beth Guillaume (315 Granger St., Blossburg). If you have any questions, please call her at 638-2008. We hope that you will join us, and feel free to bring another mom with you!
