Happy birthday to Gary Wells on Nov. 28, and Ron Steffen on Nov. 30.

North Penn Panther, Riley Bowen, has been nominated for the "Athelete of the Year" award. You can vote for Riley by calling Channel 18 News or by visiting their website at www.channel18news.com. But hurry! It's my understanding that the announcement will be made on Thanksgiving Day. Good luck Riley- you deserve it!

Blossburg V.I.B.E. and the Blossburg Memorial Library are pleased to announce their "Light Up The Holidays" Event and Contest.Pictures with Santa will begin on Sat., Dec. 9 from 2pm-6pm at the library. This includes crafts, coloring, games, etc. Pictures are $5. The tree lighting ceremony will begin at 6pm. This will include a visit from Santa, hot cocoa, snacks, caroling, and the lighting of the community tree (Please bring a non-perishable food item to the ceremony for the food pantry). The "Light Up The Holidays" contest is open to every resident of Blossburg. Residents are encouraged to decorate the outside of their homes to one of the following themes: Charlie Brown, Victorian, Whimsical, Most Christmas Spirit, Best Christmas Storefront Display. Prizes will be awarded for each theme. Judging is scheduled for Dec. 17 at 7pm. For more information, contact Lonny Frost at 638-2861.

Library News:
Two new databases have been added to our website: Heritage Quest Online-A treasure of Genealogy Resources and Thompson Gale Legal Forms. Visit our website at www.blossburgmemoriallibrary.com or stop by the library for more information. The Friends of the Library are holding an ongoing books sale at the library. Hardcover books are $1.00 and paperback books are 50¢ or 3 for $1.00. The library is having a special Preschool Story Hour on November 30, 2006 at 10 AM. James McMullen of the Tioga Transportation Society will be reading The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg and another railroad theme book.

T.O.P.S. (Take off Pounds Sensibly) meets every Monday at the First United Methodist Church of Blossburg. Weigh-in is at 5 p.m.

Blossburg BINGO! Every Monday bingo is held at St. Mary's Hall, 6:30pm and every Wednesday at the fire & ambulance building, 5:30pm

Weight Watchers meet every Wednesday at The First United Methodist Church of Blossburg. Weigh in starts at 5:15 pm.
