The great weather has brought Blossburg residents out to work on their lawns, visit Island Park, and enjoy many outdoor activities. One of the attractions at Island Park is the newly-constructed pad for the Skate Park that VIBE is building. The foundation is in place, and we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of ramps, rails, and other equipment.

The next meeting of VIBE (Visions in Business and Entertainment) will take place on Wednesday, November18, from 6:00 until 8:30 PM at Toader's Pizzeria, next to Acorn Market on Main Street. VIBE encourages everyone to attend their meetings to learn about the great projects they are developing.

The final date to have your family's portrait taken at Blossburg Fire and Ambulance Department is Sunday, November 22, from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM. Several poses will be taken with up to 3 backdrops. The $10 sitting fee gets you an 8x10 print of your choice and a CD containing all photos from the session. Photos will be ready for pickup by November 30. For more information call 404-0282.

The Blossburg Memorial Library has a vacancy on its Board of Trustees. Visit BlossburgMemorialLibrary.com to view the Trustees' list of duties and responsibilities and to download an application. Applications must be turned in to the library by November 20.

The next meeting of the Southern Tioga School Board will be on December 7 at 6:30 PM in the Mansfield High School library. 47 people attended the last meeting, and many Blossburg area citizens addressed the Board with their concerns and questions about the ongoing issue of the possible closing of North Penn High School. Our attendance at these meetings is extremely important for Blossburg schools and students. Everyone living withing the Southern Tioga School District is encouraged to come to the meetings in order to keep informed about the decisions being made that are vital to our children's education.
