Drake Morse Nationwide Insurance has a beautiful Halloween display in its storefront, visible in the day or night with pretty lights. At News & Views, we're guessing that Brenda Pequignot had something to do with it. Blossburg V.I.B.E. offers its appreciation for that company's efforts in making downtown Blossburg attractive!
This submitted by Peter Lupkowski: Several residents from town participated in a housing issues meeting sponsored by the Tioga County Human Services Agency. Information was offered and priorities were discussed for future plans, but the real story was the accepted wisdom on the median age of Blossburg. One participant suggested that the average age of Blossburg may approach the 60s or 70s. So with help from the US Census and city-data.com we researched the median age of some local communities. The median age of Pennsylvania is 38. Although Blossburg is higher at 40, it is no where near the exaggerated estimates that we have come to believe as fact. Now Mansfield, 27 leaves us in the dust, but Wellsboro at 41.5, Morris at 44, and Sabinsville at 45 all are older communities. So instead of the canes and walkers let’s get out the weights and walking shoes, get the “VIBE” and be “Blossburg Proud” of our young community!
