Blossburg News & Views
By Barb Slocum

Autumn has arrived in Blossburg, bringing with it cooler temperatures, rain showers, and beautifully painted hillsides. As the sun rises over the eastern ridge, the red, orange, and yellow leaves along Route 15 burn with a bright morning greeting as the town below awakens. At the end of the day, the sun’s rays call our attention to the leaves on the eastern hillside, where we are bid a warm and earthy good evening.

In the valley between these hills, preparations are well underway for the annual Blossburg Fall Festival. This year’s event is going to be the best ever! Food, games, arts and crafts, pumpkin painting, a scarecrow building contest, numerous vendors, and much more will fill Riverside Plaza on Saturday, October 24, from 10:00 until 5:00. If you would like to reserve a vendor space, visit http://www.blossburg.org/fallfest and print a vendor application, or call Jackie Smith at 570-404-2752.

Blossburg is pleased to announce the establishment of two new businesses! A sporting goods store has opened on Carpenter Street, across from the First Citizens Bank ATM machine. Stop in and get your fall hunting supplies or cold-weather sports equipment.
