Blossburg V.I.B.E. Announces Holiday Light Contest Winners

BLOSSBURG, Dec. 23 — Blossburg V.I.B.E. (Visions in Business & Entertainment) announced the winners of the Light Up the Holidays house decorating contest after judging displays in five categories Sunday night. The judges followed every street in the borough to find the best decorated homes. “There were so many beautifully decorated homes and businesses,” said judge Jill Nickerson, Blossburg V.I.B.E. vice president. “We finally narrowed the list down to six – we had a tie in one category. There’s no overall winner, there are six great winners.”

Most Christmas Spirit: Jill Choplosky & Rich Helton, 104 Liberty St., lower apartment (Great job making the best of available space!)

Whimsical (TIE) : Amy & Robb Bowens, 170 Johnson Street

Whimsical (TIE): Nicole & Derek Lindquist, 235 S. Williamson Rd.

Victorian: Rita & Lawrence Larson, 154 Davis Street

Green Christmas: April & David Thompson, 100 Granger St. (SEE VIDEO – The lights are connected to the music. We liked the creativity. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8Iuw4ECerQ)

Best Business Display: Ryan & Melanie Shaut, Bloss Holiday Market, Riverside Plaza (not lit but beautiful!)

Several of last year’s winners were all beautifully decorated again but were not eligible to win this year. We also noticed some past winners had their lights off Saturday night (yes, we’re looking at you, Ed Bogaczyk).
