We're Blossburg Proud

There is a story behind this picture and I intend to tell it. When I first saw this I wondered why the Bartlett brothers would be pushing this truck. After asking around, this is what I found. The driver of the truck is Secretary of Transportation Bradley Mallory and his passenger is former Blossburg Mayor John Kuster. The truck's owner is Bob Bartlett. The car in back of the truck is a 1948 Lincoln convertable owned by Ray Kaminski of Blossburg. Mr Bartlett decided to let Secretary Mallory drive his truck to lead the caravan along the newly opened section of Rt. 15. I was told Secretary Mallory had some trouble finding the right gear and the truck started coasting backward toward the 1948 Lincoln. Upon seeing the truck going backwards the Bartlett brothers (Bob and Oliver Richard) saved the day by holding the truck in place until Mr. Mallory got the gear situation under control. A witness to all of this is Keith Lindie of Blossburg who is taping things with his camcorder. This could have been the first accident on the new section of highway had it not been for the quick action of the Bartlett brothers.
