8-30
  • Zeiser Vault set manhole at stp by secondary clarifier. Grind down rough areas on inside walls of new C12 pit. Install 2" drain valve in new flow meter pit at stp.

9-3
  • Install drain line from old C12 pit to sludge manhole, then connect effluent pipe from new flow meter pit to discharge pipe which runs to Tioga River. Start backfilling over new plumbing.

  • Look for water leak on Tabor St.
  • Cement around effluent pipe on inside wall of new flow meter-pit. Dig hole for valve box by secondary clarifier at stp, and level up bottom with OGS and -1 B stone.
  • Zeiser Vault will set valve box tomorrow.

  • Locate water curb boxes on Tannery St. and listen for leaks.
  • Underdrain for stp trickling filter delivered. Store in pole barn at stp.
  • Mark area in Tannery St for sewer line to new scales. Cut blacktop for ditch line.
  • Zeiser Vault set 18" riser on manhole by secondary clarifier, then set valve box. Install 4" DIP between valve box and manhole by secondary clarifier.

  • Listen for water leaks on Taber St.
  • Rent machine to core Tannery St. sewer manhole so Hilfiger can run line to new scales. Install one section of pipe from manhole and set correct slope. Put metal plates over hole for weekend.

  • Tap 6" DIP for 1" line that Hilfiger will run to new scales. Barricade off hole so Hilfiger can tie into 1" curb stop tomorrow.
  • Listen for water leaks on Taber/Tannery Sts.

  • 10 Install 20' of 18" sluice pipe in ditch along Parkhurst St.
  • Start washing down inside walls of trickling filter and remove old distributor arms.
  • Attend Liquid Fuels class in Montoursville. Pick up sand blaster and, sand at Central Equipment. Will use to clean up inside walls of trickling filter in area we have to repair along top of walls.

  • Remove old metal center column of trickling filter distributor, and then start removing rock media.
  • Jackhammer old center concrete column down about 24" so we can reset bolts for new distributor when pour new column over old concrete column.
  • Start sandblasting bad areas on inside walls of trickling filter.

  • Finish sandblasting bad areas on inside wall of trickling filter, then take sandblaster back to Central Equipment.
  • Remove rock media in trickling filter down to underdrain. First trailer load of media for trickling filter delivered today. Store in salt shed at park.

9-13
  • Jim Smith finish railing around flow meter pit, then start on railings for new Cl2 pit.

9-14
  • Jim Smith finish building railings around new Cl2 pit, then we put coat of primer paint on them.
  • Start removing underdrain in trickling filter at stp.

  • Second load of media for trickling filter delivered. Store in one bay of Boro garage.
  • Start reading water meters.
  • DEP at stp to look at project.
  • We have removed about 3/4 of underdrain in trickling filter.
  • Meet with Rod & Gun Club officers about Taylor Run dam.

  • Third load of media for tricking filter delivered. Store in area between Boro garage and Water garage.
  • LRM install flow meter on new flow meter pit at stp.
  • Kappe Associates at stp working on recirculation pumps.
  • Remove rest of underdrain from trickling filter, and then start washing down walls and floor.
  • Read water meters.

9-18
  • Store fourth load of media for trickling filter in pole barn. Take new plastic underdrain down to stp.
  • Send 4 employees to sewer classes at Wellsboro in morning.
  • Drill holes in concrete around existing cement column in trickling filter, then cement 1/2" rebar in holes with screen around rebar. Set cardboard tube in center hole.

9-19
  • Store last load of media for trickling filter at stp along fence.
  • Set 42" ID plastic pipe around existing center column of trickling filter. Pipe will be used as form for new center column. Level up pipe and brace with wood timbers.
  • S. Bray at stp to look at project.
  • Listen for water leaks at Ward Mfg. Plant #1 and #2 on Taber St.
  • Read water meters.

  • Start repairing bad areas along inside wall of trickling filter.
  • Finish form for new center column for trickling filter. Ordered concrete for Monday.

  • Pour new center column for trickling filter.
  • Repair inside wall of trickling filter.

9-24
  • Finish repairing inside wall of trickling filter.
  • Work on piping for manhole and valve pit by secondary clarifier.
  • Look for water leaks behind Low Income Housing on Taber St.

  • Three employees go to sewer classes in Wellsboro.
  • Mark out water line on Morris Run Rd. for new service to House residence.
  • Go over electrical material needed at stp with Dave Jones and ordered material.
  • Install plumbing in valve pit by secondary clarifier at stp.
  • Remove wooden braces from new center column for trickling filter.
  • Don Havens set test pump at NPHC well at 240', which is about the same depth as old casing which was taken out. Havens measured total well casing depth and it is 432'.

9-26
  • Rent generator from rental place to run well pump at NPHC well. Pumping around 90 GPM, which is the same, as the well we tested along Ruah St.
  • Install water service for House residence.
  • Finish 4" DIP connection to valve pit by secondary clarifier.
