09/04	Electrical problems at stp- Call M. Stoudt to repair. Take new paint sprayer to Mansfield for them to use. Rake off dirt around Boro Hall parking lot and then seed and mulch. Dig out 36' X 36' area at park, 12" deep, for new playground. Mononghan Transportation deliver 100 tons of screenings to garage to use as cinders this winter. Authority meeting. Pick out decal for equipment. Will take to Council for their approval.
09/05	Fill road crossings with 2RC on Ruah St. that have settled from new water line installation. Dave Jones work with Boro crew to figure out assembly of new playground for Park. Put one section together at garage. Miller working on single axle truck.
09/06	Load junk metal from stockyard on Staimen truck for disposal. Work on new park playground. Mark out areas for support posts. Dig holes and set some tubes and backfill around them to define area. Set posts in tubes and put sections 0f playground together, then fill tubes with concrete. Dave work with crew and interpret instruction book. Monaghan Transportation deliver another 100 tons 0f screenings for cinder stockpile.
09/07	Meet with maintenance man from STSD about football scoreboard. Boro to use equipment to take down old scoreboard and set up new one. STSD to get everything ready. Remove grease pump at stp for repair. Set rest of main posts for new playground and set in concrete. Set one slide and steps. M. Stoudt repair bad electrical breaker for recirculating pump at stp.
09/10	Boro take down old football scoreboard after STSD remove bolts and disconnect electric. Finish putting Park playground together and cementing supports- Job was a lot easier with Dave interpreting instructions. Called and ordered wood chips to put around playground equipment. Will deliver this Thursday. Call Lisowski about renting BobCat to unload chips from trailer. Install grease pump back in pit at stp after adjusting impeller height. Dave agree to help with installation of new slide in pool. Equipment purchased from same company as playground equipment.
09/11	Dan and I attend mandatory class in Montoursville in morning on swimming pool operation. Boro put new football scoreboard up with backhoe then STSD install bolts to hold up and reconnect electric. Install sewer line to new home on Davis St. Terrorists fly planes into World Trade Center.
09/12	Clean up extra dirt and cut away roots inside perimeter of new playground in preparation for chips to be delivered tomorow. Made ramp at stockyard to unload chips from trailer. Install water service to new home on Davis St. Take trickling filter apart at stp and found broken bearings were causing unit to stop periodically. Call Williamsport company about ordering new bearings.
09/13	Harold House deliver wood chips for new playground at park, Boro unload with BobCat rented from Stuart Lisowski. Playground took most of the chips. Put rest in a pile at stockyard. Dave and I mark out area on pool deck for new slides. Have to remove old concrete and re-pour new concrete level for main posts . Executive session of Council with solicitor; New building fee schedule, comdemnation of homes, Davis Lane cul-d-sac.
09/14	Remove old concrete at pool for newslide installation. Dave repair electric light over restroom behind KCC building, then work at pool on slide inside pool fence. Start reading meters around town. Work on them all week. Put new ball bearings in trickling filter and put, unit back together at stp. Talked to Northern Tier Sewage Agency about Kelly subdivision by stp. More information needed by surveyor. I will call and send and send him a checklist of items needed.
09/14	Install forms for new concrete at pool for slide. Pour concrete in afternoor. Order more concrete for second section tomorrow morning. Put pool slide together inside pool fence away from work area. One in-line booster pump at Bellman filter kicking electrical breakers. Call M. Stoudt to check out. Will run plant on spare pump. Trickling filter at stp not rotating properly. Take apart and put in all new ball bearings. Put back together and still not, running properly. Will take apart again tomorrow and put the old bearings back in. Possibly the race is worn down to fit the old bearings only.
09/18	Dave connect ground wires at pool before second slab of concrete is poured. Dave work on building pool slide platform with Boro employee inside pool fence while rest of crew pour concrete and finish off. Take trickling filter apart and put old bearings inside and reset unit. Arms rotate fine now. Zeiser Vault rep. measure steps needed for gabion wall project on St. Mary's St. He thinks he has concrete steps at his stock yard. Will send them down if he has them.
09/19	Install catch basin on Davis St. Pull grease pump at stp again and take parts to ABC Gaines for repair. Dave help put bottom of legs on pool platform, then Boro crew set unit on new concrete and leveled legs. Mark holes for drilling bolts into concrete tomorrow. M. Stoudt check out in-line booster pump at Bellman filter. Motor windings are shorted out. Have to pull pump and send away for repair.
09/20	Take apart in-line pump and take to Wagner Sales for repair. We think problem was caused from low water flow to pump because of dirt buildup on screen. Once this pump is repaired, will have to take spare pump apart and get it cleaned also. Move pool slide platform ahead so holes can be drilled in new concrete for lead anchors. Move platform back and bolt down. Install one slide onto platform. Check out under side of Park footbridge. On the whole it looks good, but entire unit needs cleaned and repainted.
09/21	Dave and Boro crew put up second slide and one set of steps to pool slide. Can't do other set of steps until last section of concrete is poured. Dave and I try and figure out best way to plumb up slide to water. Talk to Wagner Sales and they should have Bellman filter pump done by next week.Have to order new motor and fix some parts in pump. z NTSWA called and we should be able to start hauling sewer sludge to their landfill next week. They will use as top dressing for their landfill. Water leak in KCC building. Call Ben Jones to repair.
09/22	Mark out area at pool for last section of concrete needed around new pool slide.
09/24	Boro garage and KCC bui1ding broken into over the weekend. Grease pump at stp repaired by ABC Gaines. Put back in pit in morning. Heavy rains cause dirty water at Bellman Reservoir. Shut down plant and set R & G Well to come on tonight. Check basins around town during storm. Recreation meeting - Go over lease agreement with STSD for use of Island Park. Have to call Jim Rakoski and set up a meeting to discuss the agreement with STSD.
09/25	Haul approximately 60 tons 0f sludge from stp to NTSWA. They will use as top dressing for landfilled areas. Rained over 4" last night. Rain 0ff and on today. Put out 48 hour shut off stickers. Budget meeting to go over new Boro assessment. Preliminary calcu1ations will drop millage to 5.22 for Boro, .41 for Fire and .15 for Library. Will call Tioga Co. for an updated assessment sheet after their adjustments to see if further millage adjustments are needed. Water leak on Schuylkill St. home service line. Have to dig up water curb box to determine what side water leak was on.
09/26	Pour last section of concrete around new pool slide. Repair berm on Taber St. that washed out from rain earlier in the week. Clean ends of storm pipe on Maple Hill that were also plugged up from the heavy rains. Only haul one load of sludge from stp. Had to take dump truck for inspection. NTSWA swreeper clean up extra 1B stone on Carpenter St. and Granger St. where tar and chips were put down earlier in the summer. In line booster pump done at Wagner Sales. Will pick up tomorrow.
09/27	Pick up booster pump from Wagner Sales. Take back to Bellman filter and get installed. Have to call M. Stoudt about connecting electric. Adjuster pulley for air brakes on garbage truck broke. Call around for replacement.
