  • Start cutting blacktop on Maple Hill Rd. for storm drain project.
  • Ward Mfg. engineer at office to discuss rezoning of residential property on Gulick St. Gave him paperwork to fill out.
  • Recreation Building vandalized last night.

5-2
  • 2 Finish cutting blacktop on Schuylkill St. for storm drain project.
  • Larson Design inspect Borough bridge on Taber St.
  • Recirculating pump broke down at stp. Pull pump so it can be taken for repair .

5-3
  • Dan and Authority engineer go to class at Scranton dealing with Nitrogen and Phosphorus removal at stp.
  • Shut off three delinquent accounts. Have water back on to everyone by late afternoon.
  • Take recirculating pump from stp to repair shop.
  • Clean branches at park.
  • Discuss catch basin design for storm drain project with factory making units. Product should be shipped to site in two weeks.
  • Authority meeting.

  • Clean pool with muriatic acid in preparation for paint.
  • Work on regrading dirt roads.

  • Do level run for Maple Hill/Schuylkill storm drain project so slopes can be calculated.
  • Summer help start painting pool today.
  • Cold patch potholes and fill holes in dirt roads around town.
  • Meet with Boro Solicitor to work up final draft on building inspections for Hamilton Twp.

  • Spread screenings on dirt roads to help bind up loose stones, then pack in with dump truck.
  • Work at Park cleaning up branches.

  • Painting at pool completed today.

5-9
  • Spring cleanup starts today. Everyone out picking up junk and hauling to NTSWA. Haul 9 tons of junk and 81/2 tons of metal.
  • Tioga County Probation workers start clean up at Island Park. Will be here all week.
  • Larson Design at Taber St. footbridge to inspect structure.
  • Council meeting-Approve agreement with Hamilton Twp. on building inspections. Some changes made by Council.

  • Crew work on spring cleanup. Hauled 4 tons of junk and 2 1/2 tons of metal.
  • Tioga Co. Probation workers at park cleaning up. Doing a good job.
  • Make changes in BlossburglHamilton municipal agreement for Building Inspector so copies can be sent to supervisors

  • Spring cleanup. Haul6 tons of junk and 2 tons of metal to NTSWA. No charge for hauling metal to landfill this week.
  • Chevy 1-ton starter went bad. Order another from NAP A.

5-12
  • Crew out checking routes for any cleanup material missed on previous days and start on Friday's route. Will put amounts collected under Friday's report.
  • Install new starter in Chevy 1-ton.
  • Confirm meeting date for Zoning Hearing Board on 6/9.

  • Spring cleanup. Haul 9 tons ofjunk and 4 tons of metal. Total hauled this week was 28 tons of junk and 17 tons of metal. Last year about 45 tons of junk was hauled to NTSWA. Never weighed metal collected last year.
  • Fax information to Wellsboro Gazette on June 9th Zoning Hearing Board meeting about Sherman special exemption.
  • Tioga County Probation crew finish Island park cleanup.
  • Take load of bark to downtown Memorial so shrubs can be mulched over the weekend.

  • Start filling Island park pool around 10:00 AM .
  • Clean up debris at Memorial from shrubs.
  • Dig up 8" DIP water main on Main St. and disconnect old 3/4" corp. that used to service home next to Jim's Service Station.
  • Set up voting booths at new Fire Hall for primary election tomorrow.

5-17
  • Remove bad sidewalk block by Island Park pool so a contractor can pour new blocks later this week.
  • Pool full at Park. Flush out drain lines before installing filters.
  • Meet with PaDOT on work to be done along State highways.

5-18
  • Install filters in pool.
  • Work on pool sidewalks sub-base to get ready for cement contractor .
  • Dan and I go to Muncy with Authority engineer to visit their stp and check out the operation of their trickling filter .
  • Look at work needed along Tioga River banks with engineer. He will start on permits needed to work in river .

5-19
  • Start up filter at Island Park pool.
  • Contractor set forms for new sidewalks by pool. Will pour walks tomorrow.
  • Repair bad picnic tables at park.

5-20
  • Contractor pour sidewalk, by pool, early in morning. Rope off area for the weekend.
  • Take load of bark to Boro Hall so shrubs can be mulched over the weekend.
  • Install new brackets on top of framework for swings at Park so ready to put up new swings after the Coal Festival.

5-23
  • Pull forms off new sidewalks in front of pool and fill in around edges of concrete.
  • Turn off water to one delinquent account. Water back on later in afternoon after payment is made.
  • Work around Park in preparation for Coal Festival.

5-24
  • Rain most of day. Crew work at park and in Boro garage .
  • Attend Flood Management class in Wellsboro all day.

5-25
  • Police officers attend class at Mansfield University all day. State Police on call until 3:00 PM.
  • Meet with landowner of Schuylkill St. property to discuss the cleanup and repair of home. Solicitor at office in afternoon for meeting with owner of N. Wmsn. Rd. property. Owner never showed up for meeting so Solicitor will send condemnation letter
  • Pick up track hoe cylinder from repair shop. Will put on hoe tomorrow.
  • Coal Festival starts tonight.

5-26
  • Install bolts on backs of pool chairs so they can not be adjusted anymore. Half of chair will be flat and half will have backs angled.
  • Put cylinder back on track hoe and add hydraulic oil to tank.
  • Cold patch potholes around Park and add topsoil to areas in grass where ground has settled .

5-27
  • Cut brush out of Johnson Creek.
  • Fill hole in birm along S. Wmsn. Rd.
  • Take bark behind downtown Memorial so area around four trees can be mulched.

  • End of Coal Festival. Fireworks were excellent again this year. 5-30 Labor Day holiday.

5-31
  • Clean sludge beds at stp.
  • Blacktop crew start paving parking lot at new Kwik Fill Store. Discuss subbase repairs of Boone Run road with developers' engineer, before topcoat is put down.
  • Posted Zoning Hearing Board meeting for June 9th at Boro Hall and on Maple Hill property .Mail meeting notification letters to adjacent property owners. Planning Commission recommend approval for rezoning of Ward Mfg. property on Gulick St. from Residential to Industrial. Will take to Boro Council next.

6-1
  • Have two employees working on rebuilding water meters on S. Wmsn. Rd.
  • Install water markers over 8" DIP main that is buried between lots on Adam Drive and Joseph St.
  • Start installing new swings at Park.
  • Leesa make up 46 48-hour door hangers for delinquent customers.

6-2
  • Finish installing new swings at Park.
  • Deliver notices to delinquent customers around town.
  • Used car dealer drop off van for Authority to try out for one week.
  • Meeting with Codes Officer and property owner about rental unit on S. Wmsn. Rd.
