06/01
  • Work at pool cleaning filters and getting chlorine running.
  • Install curb box for new water line to Doug Davies home on Hanibal Street. Install line along Hanibal Street and connect back into existing water line going into home.

06/04
  • Haul 2A stone for Boro Hall parking lot and level off over river gravel.
  • Cold patch potholes around town.
  • Send information to Bob Cox about Kelly subdivision by STP for Municipal Authority.

06/05
  • Repair potholes in dirt roads so they are ready for oiling next week.
  • Cold patch paved roads.
  • Dan did work on Authority computer. Had to re-send some information because the software was bad.

  • Authority Meeting: Agreed to do water project on Ruah Street. Will get a $5,000 grant from Northern Tier Planning because of doing the work in-house.

06/06
  • Finish cementing around pipes in manholes leading to Ben Jones subdivision.
  • Dan did work on Authority computer.
  • Allenwood Equipment in to repair seat on backhoe.

06/07
  • Mark out areas around town that have to be done before blacktoppers get here later in summer.
  • Start on Post Street digging out ditchlines to catch basins.
  • Work on bids for Ruah Street water job.
  • GPU Energy representative met with Mayor and me on streetlights around town.
  • Finish leveling off dirt roads for oiling next week.

06/08
  • Do small jobs at Boro garage trying to get caught up.
  • Cold patch roads around town.
  • Send out bid list for Ruah Street water materials to three (3) different companies.
  • Call homes that will be affected by oiling on Monday.
  • Start cleaning out chlorine contact pit at STP and pump back to head of plant. Some sludge in bottom of pit, which may have caused high BOD readings over the winter months.

06/11
  • Install filter and motor in baby pool at Island Park then start filling with water.
  • Lisowski repair water leak in Mitchell Trailer Park.
  • Finish cleaning out chlorine contact pit at STP.
  • Remove tree off St. Mary's Street that wind blew down.
  • Cancel road oil because of rain. Reschedule for Wednesday.

  • Council Meeting: Accept low paving bid from A.L. Blades.

06/12
  • Dan put new Cl2 regulator on pool filter so chlorine tanks will switch to fill tank once one becomes empty.
  • Install riser on South Williamson Road hydrant and do maintenance on unit once it was apart.
  • Locate end of sewer line on Post Street so cleanout can be installed.
  • Discuss land purchase by STP with Jack Kelly and about sending information to Cox.
  • Problems with Davis Lane culdesac. Jason Kuzneski placed railroad ties on road and planted grass. Have to write a letter about getting material removed from Boro right of way.

06/13
  • Finish tamping in 2RC around sewer cleanout on Post Street.
  • A.L. Blades delivered road oil in morning.
  • Stop at Library and see where "Handicap" and "No Parking" areas are to be painted.
  • Mayor talked to Kuzneski about Davis Lane culdesac.

06/14
  • Start reading water meters.
  • Install booster pump for pool chlorine. Will be able to pump up to 50 lbs. of Cl2 into pool when a lot of people are using it.
  • Paint "No Parking" and diagonal lines at Library parking lot where needed. Install handicap sign at one space. Will paint "Handicap" figure in space at a later date.
  • Eight (8) new Christmas decorations delivered. Store in Boro Hall basement.
  • Finish digging out last ditchline on Post Street.
  • Measure out distance on Carpenter street and draw up diagram for painting spaces.

06/15
  • Paint parking spaces along Carpenter Street.
  • Check over equipment for blacktopping next week. Go to Montoursville to pick up roller for blacktopping next week.

06/18
  • Start early digging out Carpenter Street berm. Blacktop from FCNB driveway up past hydrant in school parking lot.
  • Go to Sign Shop in Mansfield to discuss decals for Boro and Authority equipment. He will work up a design.
  • Take lead and copper test bottles to twelve (12) homes so water can be tested for corrosiveness. Will pickup tomorrow and take to Seewald Lab.

06/19
  • Pickup lead and copper test bottles and take to Williamsport for testing.
  • Recirculating pump at STP not running right again. Will have to pull later to check out.
  • Blacktop Carpenter Street berm and bad areas in roads, patch on Granger Street, and then start widening berm along Carpenter Street by Boro Hall.

06/20
  • Shovel sludge beds at STP.
  • Finish blacktopping on berm at Boro Hall, Mill Street, then start berms on Hospital Road (Ruah Street).

06/21
  • Blacktop berms on Hospital Road.
  • Locate water curbs to homes that will be affected by new 6" DIP water main on Ruah Street.
  • Jim Bogaczyk and Jerome Ogden talk to contractor about repairing monument on Main Street. Trying to get price quotes for next council meeting.

06/22
  • Blacktop rest of Hospital Road berm, finish paving ditchline on Lynd Street, then use rest of blacktop to try and level off low areas on Carpenter Street. Take roller back to Montoursville.
  • Talk to Blue Cross about costs for updating dental package for employees. Have to take numbers to Budget Committee.
  • Remove recirculating pump from pit at STP and take to garage for repair.
  • Shovel out rest of sludge beds at STP.

06/23
  • Heavy rains Friday night and Saturday morning. Raise chemical dosages at Belman Filter.
  • Work on Boro Hall parking lot to level out before paving contractor gets here. Haul 2A stone off mountain.
  • Locate catch basin on Lynd Street so new pavement can be put into ditchline leading to basin.
  • Spray weed killer along edges of Post Street to kill grass before paving crew gets here.

  • Recreation Meeting: Hire four (4) more part-time lifeguards who have just passed their lifeguard classes.

06/26
  • Finish leveling Boro Hall parking lot and tamp down gravel with Suart Lisowski's roller.
  • Repair broken water valve box on Taber Street that was broken during plowing last year.
  • L/B deliver water materials for Ruah Street water job. Store pipe behind Acorn Market.

06/27
  • Dig out water line on Ruah Street so valves can be put in old lines to start water project. Block off hole for the night.
  • Send truck to Montoursville for sand to put in sludge beds at STP in morning. Level off two (2) beds and drop sludge into them. Will finish leveling sand in other beds tomorrow.
  • Tom Schill, from Northern Tier Planning, delivered $5,000 grant for Ruah Street water project.
  • Bob Shaffer picked up mobil sweeper and hauled back to Sunbury.

06/28
  • Finished leveling sand in sludge beds at STP, then drop more sludge into beds.
  • Put 2RC along berms around town.
  • Install valves and fittings in Ruah Street intersection, and then lay one length of 6"DIP. Block off hole for the night. Will tamp gravel into hole tomorrow.
