7-1
  • Remove dirty geotextile off 2 drying beds at stp and install new material.
  • Clean up rest of willow trees along Tioga River that were cut drop by Ray Nybeck.

7-2
  • Meeting with solicitor and Jim Holleman to look at existing railroad property that Borough doesn't want.
  • Put up "Fresh Oil" signs on dirt roads that will be oiled next week.
  • Trim brush along St. Mary's and Davis Sts.

  • Liberty Township oil dirt roads around town. This year 1B stone was spread over oil for first time. Makes a lot nicer job because oil is not picked up by vehicles, and stays on road and holds stone in place.

  • Borough Engineer met with Dan and I to discuss new downtown parking lot design.
  • Install new concrete steps at St. Mary's St. gabion wall.
  • Bolts holding air compressor on garbage truck broke. Repair in afternoon so truck is ready to go tomorrow.
  • Storm knocked out power to Bellman filter. Shut down plant for the night.

  • Start Bellman filter back up.
  • Install 5 large gabion baskets past new steps on St. Mary's St.
  • Clean dried sludge out of drying beds at stp and put material in 20-yard container .
  • Jim Smith pick up rusted metal bar-b-que stoves from park and will repair them.

7-9
  • Drop sludge from both clarigesters into drying beds at stp.
  • Pump sludge from secondary clarifier into both new drying beds at stp.
  • Install more gabion baskets at St. Mary's St. wall. Have wall laid to within 10' of end.

7-12
  • Sludge level in drying beds at stp dropped about 6" over the weekend.
  • Start marking roads for tar & chipping and count number of sewer manholes and water curbs that will need protection from tar .
  • Mr. Scroback stopped at office to discuss his property on N. Wmsn. Rd. Made appointment to meet him at the property this Friday. Will contact a local contractor about inspecting property with me .
  • Council meeting .

7-13
  • Finish installing gabion baskets at St. Mary's St. wall.
  • Start work on Blossburg's Haz-Mit plan for Tioga County .

7-14
  • Clean both chlorine contact pits at stp.
  • Start cleaning and patching roads that will be tar & chipped next week.
  • Shut down Bellman filter in afternoon because of heavy rains.

7-15
  • Start Bellman filter back up and turn on Sportsman Well to help fill 1 MG storage tank.
  • Take lead and copper water samples to Seewald.
  • Finish Haz-Mit paperwork. Will take information to Wellsboro tomorrow.
  • Clean and patch roads for tar & chipping.

7-16
  • Work on roads that will be tar & chipped.
  • Bolt angle iron on steps at St. Mary's St. so new railings can be welded to it.
  • Take Haz-Mit paperwork to Tioga County.
  • Inspect Scroback property on N. Wmsn. Rd. with local contractor.

7-18
  • Callings for heavy rains so shut down Bellman filter and turn on Sportsman's Well.

7-19
  • Liberty Twp. called about tar & chipping roads this afternoon. Got sewer manholes and water valve tops protected. However, because of rain, was only able to complete one road. Will reschedule rest of roads another day.
  • Work on cleaning sewer manholes on Gulick St.
  • Turn on Bellman filter in morning. Because of heavy rains late in day, had to shut Bellman filter again and turn on Sportsman's Well.

7-20
  • Turn on Bellman filter shut down Sportsman's Well.
  • Start writing up inspection report on Scroback home. When finished, will send copies to Solicitor and Council.
  • Dig up water service to home on Taylor St. Want to find out why line freezes in winter. Discovered line was too shallow in area where sewer main was installed. Uncover service line and lower to 5' depth under blacktop and to curb box. Also install installation around pipe for added protection.
  • Start cleaning sewer line on Gulick St.

7-21
  • Cut brush on Schuylkill St./Rt. 15 intersection for better visibility.
  • Clean ditchline along White St. from catch basin to Coal Run.
  • Meet with property owner on Davis Lane about cleaning a ditch on their property line. They had no problem, as long as any mess is cleaned up.

7-22
  • Televise sewer line on Gulick St. by R&G Club. Found big rocks and pieces of pipe lying in bottom of pipe.
  • Topsoil areas at stp.
  • Dan marked out reference points in downtown parking lot for new lines, so diagonal parking can be changed to 90-degree parking.
  • Locate water line on service line to home on Reese Lane. Made One Call so leak can be repaired tomorrow.
  • Jim Smith weld together railing at St. Mary's St. gabion wall.

7-23
  • Start grinding on handrails at St. Mary's gabion wall.
  • Repair leak on Reese Lane water service line using a short 2" handiband .
  • Dave Darby and Jim Bogaczyk work at Boro Hall updating zoning map.
  • Make tool to pull through sewer line on Gulick St. to remove large rocks. Got pipe cleaned out and took pictures of debris removed.

7-24
  • Liberty Twp. finish tar & chipping roads around town.

7-26
  • Calling for heavy rains today. Shut down Bellman filter after lunch because of dirty water in stream. Turn on Sportsman well later that night.
  • Check catch basins to make sure they are open.
  • Televise section of Gulick St. sewer line that was cleaned last Friday and inside of pipe is clean .

7-27
  • Heavy rains cause some flooding around town.
  • Driveway pipe in Bear Creek plugged up and water overflowed banks.
  • Heavy water flows behind homes on Davis Lane .
  • Left Bellman filter off all day because of dirty water .
  • Tioga River water level up to 5' at 7PM, but down to 3' by 7:30 AM next day.

7-28
  • Check out manholes around town to try and identify areas of infiltration into the sewer system .
  • Start Bellman filter back up. Water in stream still dirty but not as bad as it was.

7-29
  • Check sewer manholes for infiltration .
  • Form up areas for new sidewalks that were broken while St. Mary's St. gabion wall was built.
  • Paint new railings and steps at St. Mary's gabion wall.
  • Pension auditor at office today to copy paperwork for State.
