  • Rain most of day, but roads ok for now.
  • Take down Christmas lights and pick up Christmas trees.

  • Replace broken bolts for compressor in garbage truck.
  • Dave Jones and I finalize Water Budget for 2005.

1-5
  • Snow all day. Salt roads in morning then plow off slush in afternoon.
  • Measure roads for storm drain work this year. Will figure cost estimate and take to Street Committee.

  • Crew in early to plow snow. Rain start early in morning and made snow heavier to plow.

1-7
  • Clean snow off Main St. in morning.
  • Widen roads and clean catch basin grates around town.
  • Pick up Christmas trees.

  • Freezing rain. Salt and cinder roads.

  • Clean ice/snow off catch basins before rain comes later this week.
  • Contact garage in Williamsport about replacing head on engine block for garbage truck. Compressor mounted on head that is broken.

  • Snow start around 9 AM. Salt roads in morning, then start plowing after dinner. Snow change to rain about 4 PM. Crew stayed out until roads cleaned up.

  • Clean snow off Main St. and plow slush off roads.
  • 2004 F550 not running right. Take to Cummings Ford for warranty work.
  • Another bolt broke for compressor on garbage truck. Will replace tomorrow.

1-13
  • Haul sludge from basement at Bellman filter.
  • Work on garbage truck.
  • Warm temperatures cause snow to melt, wh ich dirtied up stream. Shut down Bellman filter in evening.
  • Heavy rain during the night.

1-14
  • Rain turned to snow in morning. Plow snow in morning and roads clearing off by end of day.
  • Heavy rain plugged up some catch basins. Get grates cleaned off in morning.
  • F550 repaired. Found rust in fuel tank and fuel filter. Will have to check - fuel pumps at garage to see if they are source of rust.

  • Start Bellman filter back up in morning.

  • Flurries all day. Salt roads in afternoon.

  • Clean snow off roads and Boro walks then salt and cinder where necessary.

  • Work in Water garage organizing galvanized fittings.
  • Mark Dalton meet with Budget committee in morning to go over insurance coverage.
  • Cold temperatures. Sun out in afternoon and cleared off roads.

1-19
  • Snow flurries start in morning. Salt hills and intersections to keep snow from sticking.
  • Work on Personnel Policy.

1-20
  • Plow streets in morning, then salt/cinder roads. Sun came out in afternoon and roads cleared off nice.
  • Grease pump not working at stp. Pull unit and take to garage for repair.

1-21
  • Repair shop called and parts to repair garbage truck are in. Will make an appointment to get truck to shop for repair.
  • Check over equipment and fuel them up. Calling for heavy snow tomorrow.

1-22
  • Snow start early in morning. Crew in to plow in afternoon. Got about 3 ½" of snow.

1-23
  • Crew in to plow more snow, then cinder roads because temperatures are too cold for salt to work. Got another 2" of snow.

1-24
  • Crew in to clean snow off Main St., then salt/cinder streets.
  • Make appointment for garbage truck repair tomorrow afternoon. Will use other equipment to collect garbage until truck is completed.
  • Work on grease pump from stp. Have to get some new parts made for pump.
  • Meeting with Solicitor and Council to discuss inspection agreement with Morris Run.

1-25
  • Snow last night. Plow streets then salt and cinder. Snow melting off roads.
  • Take garbage truck to repair shop in Williamsport in afternoon and leave there. Drop off water samp les for testing at Seewald.
  • Locate water leak on service to home. Homeowner's responsibility to repair because on their side of curb box. Homeowner repair leak inside h is home later that night.

1-26
  • Dan, Scott and I attend water/sewer class in Montoursville all day.
  • Rest of crew plow streets in morning, then salt/cinder where necessary.
  • Frozen water to home on Granger St. Run hose to neighbors home for temporary water feed tonight. Will try and figure out a way to unthaw tomorrow.
  • Clean snow away from hydrants and catch basins.

1-27
  • Finish cleaning snow away from hydrants and basins.
  • Unthaw frozen water to home on Granger St. Pick up hose that was used for temporary water supply.
  • Cinder roads that are slippery. Too cold for salt to work.
  • Figure cost to produce water from filter plants for Authority members. Cost 0.0005 cents/gallon from Bellman filter and 0.001 cents/gallon from Sportsman's well.
