Date Activity
1-1
  • Happy New Year.
  • Rain heavy during day; change to freezing rain at night.
  • Power off to Blossburg late in evening. Shut down Bellman filter.
  • Call for freezing rain changing to snow. Call crew to come in early tomorrow to plow and cinder roads.

1-2
  • Did not get as much snow as anticipated. Plow snow then salt and cinder roads.
  • Water level in 1-MG storage tank dropping faster than it should. Call Cleveland Brothers in morning and they brought a 125 kW generator to run R & G Well. Unit was delivered before noon and we had connected and running well by 2 PM. Water level in 1-MG tank at 16'. Water dropping about 14,000 gallons per hour.
  • Discover excess water being used by Plant #1 , so went and talked with personnel. They rented a portable generator to operate their water supply and shut off water from Authority water system.
  • Water level at 14.9' in 1-MG tank by 5PM.
  • Rent 50 kW generator to run pumps at stp pump house.
  • Power to town by 6:30 PM, so start up Bellman filter so 1-MG tank can be filled back up.
  • Leave generators running at R & G well and stp pump house.
  • Boro offices closed, because portable generator not connected yet.
  • Calling for more snow tonight. Have crew come in early to plow.

1-3
  • Electric off to Bellman filter in morning. 1 MG tank up to 20'.
  • Electric back on to filter in afternoon, so start plant back up again.
  • Plow snow all day. Calling for 6-18" by tomorrow morning.
  • Pump sludge from secondary clarifier. Finally start to get some clear liquid.

  • Crew in early to plow, then salt and cinder roads.

  • Shut down generator at R&G well and turn power back on from GPU.

  • Clean snow off Main St. and haul away.
  • Order more salt and cinders for stockpile.
  • Connect wiring for new CI2 analyzer at Bellman filter.

1-7
  • Crew in early to plow snow.
  • Two loads of salt delivered to stockpile in afternoon.

1-8
  • Plow slush off roads, then salt where needed. Roads melting nicely.
  • Two loads of cinders delivered today and push into pole barn.
  • Start picking up Christmas trees and hauling to stp, where we will chip up.
  • Ground water on Granger St. freezing into dirt road causing bumpy road. Level off area with 1 B stone.
  • Disconnect 50 kW generator at stp pump house and take back to Central Equipment.
  • Check out installation of generator at Boro Hall with Dave Jones. Start mounting some panel boxes to wall.

1-9
  • Dave Jones work at Bellman filter to figure out control wires for call out box.
  • Haul sludge from Be1lman filter basement to sewer manhole at park.
  • Arrange date for reconvened meeting between Authority members and Authority engineer.

  • Three loads of cinders delivered to garage. Push into pole barn.
  • Work on control wires at Bellman filter.
  • Re plumb new CI2 injection point at Bellman filter, which will work better for new CI2 analyzer .
  • Company called about fiberglass grates for top of trickling filter media at stp. Should be delivered early next week.

  • Take down Christmas lights and store in basement of Boro Hall.
  • Dave Jones draw up revised electrical schematics for Bellman filter. Will get copies made for plant.
  • One load of cinders delivered and pushed into pole barn.
  • Council meeting.

1-14
  • Work at Boro Hall identifying circuit breakers in panel box So it can be determined what the generator can service.
  • Budget meeting in morning to discuss insurance packages.
  • Mail signed Agility paper work to PennDot.
  • Three loads of cinders delivered and pushed into pole barn.

1-15
  • Fiberglass grates delivered in morning. Take to stp and place on top of filter media. If work out good, will order more later .
  • Meeting with Scott Bray in morning to discuss addition of more drying beds at stp.
  • Wrap up cables for generator at R & G well So ready when Cleveland Brothers pick up 125kW generator at end of week.

1-16
  • Connect natural gas supply line to exhaust to generator at Boro Hall.
  • LRM connect new flow meter chart at stp.
  • Reconvened Authority meeting to discuss portable generator, hydro study and municipal agreement with Morris Run.
  • Snow during night. Call someone to come in early to salt roads.

1-17
  • Salt and cinder roads around town.
  • Amrex deliver chemicals to Bellman filter and stp.
  • Pump sludge from secondary clarifier to drying bed. Dirty at first, but cleaned up quickly.
  • Cleveland Brothers pick up 125 kW generator from R & G well.

1-20
  • Mike Stoudt connect small computer at Bellman filter to record electrical use of plant so that correct size of generator to run plant can be determined.
  • + 1" of snow last night. Salt roads in morning.
  • New recirculating pump at stp not running. Pull pump and call company about getting it repaired.
  • Push four loads of cinders into pole barn at garage.

1-21
  • Real cold temps. predicted for all this week.
  • Comminutor at stp pump house stuck because small towel caught in cutting teeth. Got Comminutor running again after towel pulled out.
  • Work on footbridge grant application; will go to Planning Commission meeting tonight for their approval.
  • Order materials for generator connection at Boro Hall.

1-22
  • Call Eagle Equipment about garbage truck compactor bushings. Representative will come look at unit next week.
  • LRM connect new CI2 residual analyzer at Bellman filter.
  • Put new weather-stripping on two Boro garage overhead doors.

1-23
  • Mike Stoudt pull computer from Bellman filter and put at R & G well to record electrical use there.
  • Start work installing new electrical panel and conduit in Boro Hall basement for generator.
  • Meet with Mark Dalton on some of Boro's insurance packages.
  • Discuss footbridge application with Jerome Ogden.
  • Snow late in day. Call in someone to salt hills and busy intersections.

1-24
  • Work on Boro Hall generator wiring.
  • Salt and cinder roads that weren't done last night. Had to plow some roads that had snow drifted into them.
  • Take information to Covington Township about property purchased from Jack Kelly, next to stp. Want to get all paperwork done for any possible stp expansion.
  • Talk to Kerry Gykis about county questionnaire for local communities. Boro has to make copies of survey then mail out with return envelope. Boro then has to re-bill County for costs associated with mailing.
  • Take pictures of footbridge to send with grant applications.

1-25
  • Replace expansion tank in meter pit at Mitchell trailer park.

1-26
  • Snow heavy in afternoon. Call crew in to plow off hills and busy intersections so they can be salted.

1-27
  • Crew in early to plow then salt and cinder roads.
  • Water consumption to town really high. Some usage can probably be attributed to customers letting water run because of cold weather.
  • Go out and listen for any big leaks.
  • Dan finish revised O & M plans for filter plants. Make copies to put in books.
  • Finish preliminary wiring at Boro Hall for generator. Call Dave Jones to see what has to be done next.

1-28
  • Salt and cinder roads around town where needed.
  • Listen for water leaks. May have a leak on Rt. 15 by Maple Hill Rd.
  • Eagle Equipment check out garbage truck compactor. Will send us the part to fix the problem.
  • Work on Boro Hall generator. Get unit ready so it can be checked out tomorrow during a trial run.

1-29
  • Snow early in morning. Salt roads early then plow off slush later in the day where needed.
  • Listen for water leaks on Rt. 15. Have to isolate sections of water main so it can be determined where leak is located.
  • Start up generator at Boro Half and everything checked out. Start transferring some breakers to sub-panel that generator is connected to.

1-30
  • Allison Crane at Island Park to look at footbridge so estimate can be worked up for use of Crane.
  • Meet with Jerome Ogden and Doyne Chartreau to discuss footbridge.
  • Locate possible leak at intersection of Rt. 15 and Maple Hill.
