Island Park Spring Cleanup

Everyone is invited to come to Island Park on May 7, 2016 to help cleanup the Island Park. Anyone and Everyone is asked to come lend a hand. Please bring your own garden tools – rake, shovel, gloves, etc. – which you may want to use during the day. Please rake debris into piles so it can be removed easily. Papers, etc. can be put in the garbage cans at Island Park. If there is bad weather on May 7, 2016 – the cleanup will be on May 14, 2016. Any questions, telephone the Blossburg Borough Office at 570-638-2452. This is great community activitiy. Thanks for your help!

House and Business Decorating Contest
Decorate your house or business storefront for the holidays and maybe you’ll win a prize from V.I.B.E.! Light Up the Holidays judging will be held Dec. 18, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. everywhere in the borough of Blossburg. Prize donations are welcome – contact firstname.lastname@example.org
The “Light up the Holidays!” contest is free of charge and open to every resident of Blossburg. You don’t even need to sign up! Just decorate your house or business and you’re in.
Blossburg V.I.B.E. members will select 4 residential winners and 1 business winner.
Judging: Dec. 18th, 6 p.m. to 10 pm – Remember to turn on your lights!

We’re planning a fun filled day of activities on November 28th starting with the Frosty 5k in the morning, Ice Skating in the afternoon, and our Small Business Saturday event from 9am to 4pm. It’s time for the Blossburg Community Yard Sale Sign-ups! Call 570.638.2005 or email email@example.com to add your location to the yard sale map. The yard sale is on Saturday, April 26th from 8am – 2pm. Free coffee and maps at The Brick Tavern. Blossburg Borough will also be having spring clean-up during the week of April 28-May 2. And if you still don’t get rid of all of your clutter…be sure to drop off all of your electronics on Tuesday, April 29th from 5-8pm in the plaza. This e-recycling event sponsored by Blossburg Vibe, can take all electronics except TVs and microwaves. Bring your computers, printers, cameras, etc. What a great week to clean up!

Make plans for the 2014 Annual Blossburg-North Penn Alumni Association Reunion. This year’s date Is August 2, 2014. All Blossburg and North Penn Alumni are welcome to help with the planning. Anniversary years ending in “4” and “9” are especially urged to get involved!
Blossburg V.I.B.E. will be hosting a work bee for the Community Garden on April 5th starting at 10 am. We’ll be cleaning up the boxes, rebuilding a few boxes, and making a few raised beds to make them wheelchair friendly. If you’d like to help out, stop on by. If you’re interested in reserving a garden box at the community garden or for other questions, call Jackie at 570-781-7010.
BLOSSBURG, Dec. 23 — Blossburg V.I.B.E. (Visions in Business & Entertainment) announced the winners of the Light Up the Holidays house decorating contest after judging displays in five categories Sunday night. The judges followed every street in the borough to find the best decorated homes. “There were so many beautifully decorated homes and businesses,” said judge Jill Nickerson, Blossburg V.I.B.E. vice president. “We finally narrowed the list down to six – we had a tie in one category. There’s no overall winner, there are six great winners.”

Several of last year’s winners were all beautifully decorated again but were not eligible to win this year. We also noticed some past winners had their lights off Saturday night (yes, we’re looking at you, Ed Bogaczyk).
