We created the Save Our Schools coalition in late 2009 to address the threat that North Penn High School would close. We successfully saved our school in January 2010, but our schools seem to be under repeated attack. 

In 2011, we addressed the Southern Tioga School District budget crisis, "Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett has submitted a budget proposal that drops basic education funding by $550M. In addition, the student enrollments, job growth  and population growth (which would mean increased tax revenue) promised by the natural gas industry have not appeared."

In 2012, the district has been considering discontinuing the NPHS building project. As the district has undertaken a feasibility study, we have monitored and participated in the process, gathered and disseminated information, and now urge the board members to continue with the project as recommended by the consultants.
