October 8, 2010
Dear Community Members,
The Kiwanis Club of Blossburg will have a table set up at the Fall Festival in the Plaza on October 17, 2010 to answer any questions you might have about joining this wonderful community organization.
There will be literature and applications on hand for anyone interested in joining the club. So please stop by and feel free to ask our representative on hand anything you might like to ask about what the organization does and what it stands for. How it strengthens any community it serves by working with children and therefore setting the ground work for the next generation of civic minded individuals.
Kiwanians don't just stop their work at the borders of their community they are an international organization and work throughout the world by helping all those in need of special care. Their work and efforts have just helped bring to developing nations an end to an iodine deficiency that has caused havoc to many poor nations that had no source of iodine.
They have begun a second world crusade to help stamp out tetanus. This is a heart breaking affliction throughout poorer countries around the world and the International Kiwanis organization is raising $100,000,000 over five years to try an stamp out this horrible killer of innocent new born babies.
So please stop by for a minute or two and find out more about this terrific community organization.
Sincerely,
PJH.
President
